Fast and accurate building surveys for architects, contractors and real estate developers
During the creation of a BIM model based on a 3D point cloud, the millions of coordinate points captured through laser scanning are processed and integrated into the Archicad environment. The point cloud data (e.g. E57, XYZ, or LAS formats) serves as a reference onto which the building elements are accurately remodelled. Throughout the process, walls, slabs, doors, windows, and other structural components are recreated as parametric BIM objects, ensuring both geometric and dimensional accuracy.
The modelling process can be carried out at different LOD (Level of Development) stages. At LOD 100–200, simplified masses and basic geometries are created, while at LOD 300–350, accurate structural thicknesses, layer compositions, and opening layouts are already represented. At the higher LOD 400 level, detailed junctions and construction-related information can also be incorporated. The data content can be tailored to project requirements, including rooms, materials, structural layers, quantity take-offs, and custom parameters assigned to the model elements.
The completed model is delivered in IFC or native PLN format, enabling further use for design development, coordination, and facility management purposes. As a result, a well-structured BIM model serves not only as a visual representation but also as a comprehensive database that supports the entire lifecycle of the project.
